Overview

The project focused on creating the product website for GiQ, a data analytics platform that transforms complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for businesses.

The branding and identity concept were designed by Michał Jakubowski from ooll, while my role was to build upon his proposed design system - extending it from a simple landing page into a fully functional, component-based website.

The challenge was to build a comprehensive website presenting the product offering and capabilities as well as its expertise in making complex data accessible and actionable.

Web design

Webflow

Problems

The project began with an in-depth discovery phase focused on understanding GiQ's target audience. Through careful research and analysis conducted with the marketing team, we developed detailed user personas that guided the design decisions. This foundation helped shape the communication strategy and information architecture, ensuring the website effectively served its intended users.

Working within established brand guidelines presented both a framework and a challenge. The task required maintaining brand consistency while creating an engaging web experience that would showcase GiQ's capabilities.

SOLUTION

I developed a comprehensive design system that extended the existing brand guidelines from a simple landing page into an extensive website. I aimed to ensure consistency across all website elements while maintaining the flexibility needed for various content types.

I proposed a database of components and reusable sections that make it easy to edit and expand the Webflow-based website.

A significant technical achievement in this project was the development of a custom video player component. The design included sophisticated micro-interactions, with a play button appearing when hovering over the thumbnail.

The video functionality was carefully crafted to enhance the user experience: auto-playing when opened, then stopping and resetting upon closure. I both designed this component in Figma and implemented it in Webflow, ensuring seamless functionality and visual appeal.

Another technical challenge was creating a custom cookie consent modal aligned with brand aesthetics and compliance requirements. This required custom code implementation within Webflow's environment and demonstrated my ability to extend platform capabilities when needed.

Summary

The final result was a website that effectively communicates GiQ's value proposition while providing an engaging user experience. The custom video player and cookie consent components demonstrate technical proficiency, while the overall design system ensures consistency and maintainability.
